Who Are Functional Skills For?

Functional Skills are suitable for anyone aged 14 and above that would like to improve their core English, Maths and ICT skills. There are no previous qualifications required and there are a wide range of levels, meaning all abilities are catered for.

Learners

English, Maths and ICT skills are vitally important in everyday life. Improving your basic skills in these subjects will therefore have a tremendous impact not just at your workplace but outside it as well.

Apprentices

Functional Skills are a mandatory component of Apprenticeships for those learners without a corresponding GCSE at grades 'A*' - 'C' (see our specifications for more information).

Employers

By enrolling your staff on Functional Skills, you can ensure that they have the right skills and know how to apply them in your workplace. This will increase effectiveness and performance.

Further / Higher Education

For those looking to continue in training or education, being able to evidence your competency in these core skills will help your application, as well as aiding you in your studies.
